  The curls are gone! Calvin got his first major haircut today.
  
  After much deliberation on which was more important: Calvin's curls or Calvin's comfort in the hot, humid Nebraska climate, we decided to opt for comfort.
  
  We went to our local Great Clips and they shaved off all the golden curls. Calvin cried. I cried. Joep cried. People passing by the store even cried. It was a very emotional day.
  
  Ok, so really only Calvin just cried, but we all wanted to. After it was all done, Calvin scored a sucker (watermelon!) and was completely oblivious to the fact that he'd just lost 6 pounds in hair alone.
  
  At least he feels better now.
